According to reports, the National Police is to extend the operations of the Cartenz Peace Task Force as an effort to maintain the stability of security and social order and security of public order (Kamtibmas) in Papua. The operation will be extended from 01 January to 31 December.
The 2024 Cartenz Peace Operation was carried out in the Papua Regional Police Region with priority targets, especially in the Central Papua and Mountain Papua Provinces with a total of nine regions; the Bintang Mountains, Yahukimo, Mimika, Intan Jaya, Dogiyai, Puncak, Nduga, Jaya Wijaya and Jayapura districts.
