According to reports, a landslide on National Highway-2 (NH-2) at Chainage KM 12.900, near Tsiesema Basa, has led to the complete blockage of the highway, prompting the Kohima district administration to issue a traffic advisory on Monday (25 August).
• The road from High Court Junction, Meriema – Nagaland University Campus – Tsiesema Basa, near 5 Sector Assam Rifles/ Koinonia Prayer Centre Junction is notified as alternative route for the light motor vehicles (LMVs).
• However, the advisory cautions that due to the narrow passage of the alternative route, heavy vehicles, including those bound for Manipur and Dimapur, will be regulated by traffic police depending on road conditions.
