As per reports, employees of municipalities, councils, municipal corporations, and the fire department have commenced and will observe statewide strike across Haryana until Saturday (08 August), to protest the government’s alleged failure to implement the agreement reached on 13 May.

• According to the State President of the Municipal Employees Union, Haryana, Naresh Kumar Shastri, an agreement was reached to reinstate all retrenched employees, including those in Gurugram, and they were also assured of permanent employment.
• The government also allegedly agreed to 17 key demands of the employees.
