As per reports, vehicular traffic on the Mumbai-Bengaluru National Highway 48 (NH-48) remains severely disrupted as of Wednesday (14 October) due to an ongoing farmers’ blockade at the Kognoli toll plaza near the Maharashtra-Karnataka border. The Maharashtra Highway Police Pune Range has coordinated two primary diversion paths with regional district police forces to manage incoming traffic based on vehicle classification.
• The path applies to cars, jeeps, and buses. Drivers should exit at Satara (Bombay Restaurant junction) and travel via Rahimatpur, Pusegaon, Pusesawali, Nevri, Vita, Tasgaon, Miraj, Kagwad, Raibag, and Gokak to rejoin the highway at Belagavi.
• The path applies to trucks, containers, and multi-axle trailers. Heavy transport operators are directed to divert from Satara and pass through Karad, Peth Naka, Islampur, Ashta, Miraj, Kagwad, Raibag, and Gokak before reaching Belagavi.
