As per reports, on Saturday (31 January), the Oak Ridge Fire Department reported multiple water main breaks across parts of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, following a period of extreme cold weather and heavy snowfall. Initial public updates were issued at around 0843 hours local time (1343 hours UTC) after overnight response operations.

• Emergency and utility crews responded overnight to multiple break locations across Oak Ridge.
• The water main breaks were attributed to freezing temperatures placing stress on underground pipes. Affected zones experienced temporary water service disruption or reduced water quality following restoration.
• Heavy snowfall began in Oak Ridge around 0130 hours local time (0630 hours UTC) on Saturday (31 January), which further complicated response and road clearing operations.
