As per reports, multiple rallies and counter-protest have been scheduled by right wing and other groups across Paris on Sunday (06 April). Following are the details:
• The National Rally (RN) is scheduled to stage a rally at Place Vauban at 1500 hours. A large turnout of several thousand protestors is expected, for which authorities are making traffic arrangements in adjoining areas such as the Invalides district, Champ de Mars, École Militaire, and Sèvres-Babylone areas. Several roads will be closed completely or partially, such as Boulevard de La Tour-Maubourg, Boulevard des Invalides, Avenue de Ségur, and Avenue de Breteuil.
• The left wing party La France Insoumise (LFI) is scheduled to stage a counter-rally at République, Renaissance at Saint-Denis at 1300 hours.
• Additionally, a bike rally to demand the abolition of low-emission zones (LEZs) is scheduled to take place from Avenue Victoria in front of the City Hall to Place de la Nation, the details of which are awaited. Police have pre-emptively cautioned commuters about traffic congestion on the Eastbound axes such as Avenue Victoria, Rue de Rivoli, or the boulevards du Temple, Voltaire or Diderot.
