As per reports, a multi-vehicle traffic collision occurred on Interstate 70 East near downtown Columbus, Ohio, United States, on Friday (19 June) at approximately 1600 hours (local time) near the Kelton Avenue exit and the Interstate 71 split. The incident involved at least seven vehicles and resulted in one confirmed fatality.
According to initial information from Columbus police dispatch, a westbound semi-truck experienced a tire failure, with the detached tire striking another vehicle and triggering a chain-reaction collision involving multiple vehicles. The crash led to a full shutdown of Interstate 70 in both directions in the affected area. Eastbound traffic was diverted onto Interstate 670.
