As per reports, the Santa Marta Municipal Government has implemented a restriction on the circulation of motorcycles, motorcycle taxis, motorcycles, motorcars, and quad bikes in the city from 1700 hours (local time) on Tuesday (31 December) until 0400 hours (local time) on Thursday (02 January 2025).
• This measure, outlined in Decree 890 issued on Monday (30 December) aims to safeguard public safety and protect the lives and integrity of residents during the holiday period. Non-compliance with the decree will result in a fine equivalent to 15 minimum legal wages.
• The District Mobility Secretariat will take necessary actions to ensure the proper dissemination and enforcement of this measure. However, there are several exceptions for public servants, authorities, and workers who rely on vehicles for their productive activities, such as couriers and delivery personnel, who must be properly uniformed and carry identification.
