As per reports, a magnitude 4.2 earthquake occurred in the North Pacific Ocean on Monday (23 March) at 1503 (local time).
• The epicenter was located approximately 100 km (62 mi) southwest of Tonalá, Chiapas, and 79 km (49 mi) from the nearest Mexican coastline.
• The earthquake occurred at a very shallow depth of 16.1 km (10 mi).
• Shaking intensity was estimated at MMI IV (Light) near the epicentre, though there have been no immediate reports of the quake being felt on land.
