As per reports, all public hospitals in New York City have resumed mask mandates with effect from Wednesday (03 January), owing to a reported rise in in COVID-19, flu and respiratory syncytial virus cases.
• The mask requirement also applies for all health clinics and nursing homes run by NYC Health + Hospitals.
• The Health Commissioner has informed that, the requirement is for areas of the hospital where patients are being treated.
• The Commissioner also informed that, there is an increasing level of caseload in the city, and health officials are recording instances of increased coughing and other symptoms at avenues of mass assembly such as workplaces.
