Maryland State House in Annapolis under lockdown on Thursday (29 February) evening

As per reports, the Maryland State House located on 100 State Circle, Annapolis has been placed under lockdown around 1700 hours (local time) on Thursday (29 February), due to reports of a security threat.

• All staff members and personnel in the area were asked to shelter in place by Maryland House Speaker’s office around 1700 hours (local time) Thursday (29 February).
• About 30 minutes later, the staff and other personnel were evacuated from the building by the Maryland State Police, after officers responded to the incident.
• Further details related to the incident remains awaited as the investigations are ongoing.
