As per reports, a magnitude 4.9 earthquake occurred in Sipi, Chocó Department, Colombia, at 1502 hours (local time) on Monday (14 September). The earthquake occurred at a depth of 60 km and was felt across the surrounding area.
The earthquake was assessed at intensity IV near the epicentre, with approximately 40 felt reports. The earthquake was reported as a possible aftershock of the magnitude 7.4 earthquake recorded approximately 38 km west of Cartago on 10 August.
