As per reports, a magnitude 4.8 earthquake was recorded at 0456 hours (local time) on Wednesday (07 October). The epicentre was located on land approximately 31 kilometres southeast of Yalimo, Papua Pegunungan, at coordinates 3.80 degrees south latitude and 139.66 degrees east longitude.
• The earthquake occurred at a depth of 50 kilometres and was felt at Modified Mercalli Intensity (MMI) II in Wamena.
• No casualties, structural damage or operational disruptions have been reported.
