As per reports, a magnitude 4.2 earthquake occurred in the North Pacific Ocean approximately 105 km southwest of Huixtla, Estado de Chiapas, Mexico, at 1213 hours (local time) on Wednesday (22 July). The earthquake occurred at a depth of 7 km and was classified as an aftershock linked to the magnitude 7.3 earthquake recorded southwest of Tapachula on Friday (17 July).
