As per reports, the M5 motorway in Somerset, England, has been closed in both directions near the Weston-super-Mare and Clevedon junctions on Wednesday (29 July) at approximately 2006 hours local time (2006 hours UTC), following a collision involving a lorry.
• According to the reports, the traffic is at a standstill and congestion is building in the area in both directions.
• National Highways South West has advised motorists of building traffic and congestion in the vicinity of the closure.
• Emergency services are expected to be in attendance at the scene. The closure is anticipated to remain in place to allow for emergency response, scene investigation, vehicle recovery and barrier repair works.
• Motorists in the area are being warned of significant delays. Traffic diversion measures are expected to be put in place on local routes in the vicinity of the Weston-super-Mare and Clevedon junctions.
