As per reports, the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow (LKO) has been put on alert and is undergoing preparations to be an alternate landing site for Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi’s arrival in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the consecration ceremony of the Grand Ram Temple. The development comes due to the risk of inclement weather conditions, including fog and poor visibility in Ayodhya, due to which flight operations may be disrupted.

• Approximately 25 private chartered flights are already booked to land at LKO between Sunday and Tuesday (21-23 January).
• Additionally, a officials have designated a high-security parking bay for the PM’s aircraft from Sunday (21 January) till the duration required.
• In response to the increased air traffic and VIP arrivals, the staff at Lucknow airport has been instructed to maintain a state of alertness, and security protocols have been intensified. Visitor passes into the airport terminals have been suspended between Sunday and Tuesday (21-23 January).
