As per reports, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has stated that Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2 (LRT-1 and 2) and Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) will be closed during Holy Week from Holy Thursday (02 April) to Easter Sunday (05 April). The DOTr Secretary Giovanni Lopez further stated that the train lines’ suspension of operations will give way to their annual maintenance activities.
Meanwhile, the Edsa Bus Carousel will continue to operate 24/7 through the Holy Week, and to handle the influx of travelers, the department may issue special permits for passenger buses and will expand clearing operations for major thoroughfares. The Philippine National Railway (PNR), meanwhile, will be closed on Friday and Saturday (03-04 April) on Good Friday and Black Saturday for maintenance activities.
