Large security deployment expected for Papua demonstration in Jakarta in Tuesday (16 September)

As per reports, on Tuesday, (16 September), the group Aliansi Rakyat Papua untuk Kebenaran dan Keadilan has planned a protest outside Jakarta, specifically in the area of Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Central Jakarta. The protest has an official permit.

To manage it, the police have prepared a large security deployment 5,148 personnel are assigned in Central Jakarta. Authorities emphasized that the approach will be “persuasive” (non-confrontational), focusing on allowing peaceful speech, avoiding provocations, and preventing damage to public property.
