As per reports, a landslide occurred at 0844 hours on Saturday (30 August) on the E6 highway in Levanger, Norway, cutting the main road in half and dragging vehicles into the water. One person has been reported missing, while another was rescued.

The details are as follows:

• A large portion of the E6 highway collapsed on Saturday (30 August) following a landslide, with both lanes destroyed.
• A car was swept into the water. One occupant managed to escape, while another person remains missing.
• Rescue operations are ongoing with deployment of rescue services, ambulance helicopters, divers, and 12 search dogs.
• The authorities confirmed that all available rescue resources have been mobilized by the Norwegian Central Rescue Centre.
• Hospital in Levanger declared a state of emergency in response to the incident.
• Two homes located near the landslide site, with a total of three residents, were evacuated as a precaution.
• The railway line has also been impacted, and geologists are on-site to assess the risk of further slides.
• According to police, reopening of the E6 may take several days due to the scale of the collapse and ongoing search operations.
