As per reports, dozens of workers affiliated with the Lampung People’s Struggle Center (PPRL) staged a protest at the Lampung Governor’s Office on Jl. Wolter Monginsidi, South Telukbetung, Bandar Lampung, on Wednesday (07 October).
• Protesters began arriving at around 1300 hours (local time), and the demonstration remained ongoing. Protesters had gathered for consolidation in the Sungkay Room at the Lampung Governor’s Office.
• The protest has been held in response to the ratification of the Employment Protection Law by the House of Representatives (DPR RI). The workers have questioned the accelerated ratification and delivered speeches concerning workers’ rights. The group has stated that it would continue monitoring the implementation of the law.
