As per reports, the Konyak Students’ Union (KSU) has raised concerns over the recent rationalization of teachers, claiming that it was a politically influenced move that has disrupted the education system.

KSU submitted a reminder letter on 24 January 2025 through the Deputy Commissioner of Mon, requesting the appointment of six Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) at the newly upgraded Government Higher Secondary School-C (GHSS-C) before 10 February 2025. However, the issue was not addressed and KSU has further issued a five-day ultimatum. KSU has stated that failure to comply is likely to result in escalated action, including the closure of all government schools and offices in the district as a form of protest.
