As per reports, on Tuesday (27 October), Mount Karangetang in Sitaro Regency, North Sulawesi, recorded four minor explosive eruptions during the observation period from Monday (26 October) to Tuesday (27 October).
Incandescent material was ejected up to 400 meters from the North Crater, while lava flows travelled up to one kilometer toward several river channels. The volcano remains at Alert Level II (Advisory), potentially affecting communities near the slopes and riverbanks.
• Authorities warned that unstable lava deposits could collapse, potentially generating hot avalanches.
• Heavy rainfall could also trigger lahars and flash floods along rivers originating from the volcano, potentially extending the hazard downstream toward coastal areas.
