The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the indicated weather alerts in the following metro cities, as of on Thursday (24 September).
• Mumbai and Pune -No warning has been issued in the forecast or nowcast.
• Delhi, Noida, and Gurugram: No warning has been issued in the forecast or nowcast.
• Bengaluru – A yellow alert for thunderstorms with lightning and squalls has been issued in the forecast, while no warning has been issued in the nowcast.
• Hyderabad – A yellow alert for thunderstorms with lightning and squalls has been issued in the forecast; a yellow alert for light rainfall with thunderstorms and strong surface winds is active till 0700 hours (local time).
• Chennai – A yellow alert for thunderstorms with lightning and squalls has been issued in the forecast, while no warning has been issued in the nowcast.
• Kolkata – A yellow alert for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms with lightning and squalls accompanied by strong surface winds has been issued in the forecast, while nowcast updates are awaited.
• Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar – No warning has been issued in the forecast or nowcast.
