The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued rainfall alerts in some key Indian metro cities. The warnings are as follows:

• For Friday (30 May): Red alert is issued for extremely heavy rainfall in Ernakulam. Orange alert is issued for very heavy rainfall in Thiruvananthapuram. Furthermore, yellow alerts have been issued for Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Gurugram, Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural. Additionally, as per the IMD Nowcast, which is in effect until 1000 hours on Friday (30 May), an orange alert is active in Ernakulam for moderate rain while a yellow alert is active in Thiruvananthapuram for light rain. Furthermore, a yellow nowcast warning is active in North, North-West and West Delhi, it will be in effect until 0745 hours on Friday (30 May), Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural for light rainfall.
• For Saturday (31 May): Orange alerts have been issued for Delhi, Ernakulam, and Thiruvananthapuram. Yellow alerts have been issued for Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai and Gurugram. No active alerts for Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Pune.
