The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has forecast thundershowers across parts of Thailand, with isolated heavy rainfall in the north, in its bulletin announced on Wednesday (30 September).
Heavy rainfall: Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain are forecast in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang and Tak. Thundershowers: The following areas are expected to experience thundershowers:
• Northeastern: Isolated thundershowers, mainly in Loei, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buri Ram, Surin, Si Sa Ket and Ubon Ratchathani.
• Central: Scattered thundershowers, mainly in Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Suphan Buri, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram.
• Eastern: Scattered thundershowers, mainly in Sa Kaeo, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
• Southern east coast: Scattered thundershowers, mainly in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat.
• Southern west coast: Scattered thundershowers, mainly in Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Trang and Satun.
• Bangkok Metropolitan Region: Isolated thundershowers
• Sea conditions: Waves of one to two metres are forecast from Phang Nga northward. Waves of around one metre are expected from Phuket southward and along the eastern and southern east coasts. Wave heights may exceed two metres during thundershowers across these waters.
