As per reports, Bucharest and surrounding regions have reportedly been experiencing continuous snowfall, with the snow layer reaching up to 50 centimeter in some areas as of Tuesday (18 February).
• The National Meteorological Administration has issued a yellow code warning for snowfall and freezing conditions, which remains in effect until Wednesday (19 February) till 1000 hours (local time).
• Traffic disruptions have been reported on major highways, including the A1 Bucharest–Pitești route, where a truck accident at kilometer 84 in Teiu, Argeș County, caused vehicle congestion. Columns of cars have also formed at the entrance to the Bucharest Ring Road, leading to delays of several kilometers.
• Rail transport delays, such as a one-hour delay on the Constanța–Bucharest train route, have also been observed due to adverse weather conditions.
• The affected regions include Bucharest and the counties of Ialomița, Călărași, Giurgiu, Teleorman, Ilfov, Olt, Argeș, Dâmbovița, Prahova, and Constanța.
