As per reports, as of Friday (24 July) Croatian oil company Industrija nafte, d.d. (INA) has temporarily introduced a fuel purchase limit of 300 litres per transaction at its fuel stations across Croatia in response to increased fuel demand during the peak tourist season and growing uncertainty in international energy markets.

• Reports indicate that the temporary measure applies to all INA service stations nationwide except those located on highways and is expected to remain in effect until further notice.
• According to INA, the restriction has been implemented as a precautionary measure to maintain the continuity of fuel supplies, prevent localized shortages, and ensure equitable distribution of fuel among consumers during a period of elevated demand.
• However, the company indicated that the Rijeka Refinery is expected to continue to operate stably and without interruption, producing sufficient quantities of gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel, and states that existing fuel reserves are adequate to meet normal market demand.
• Similar temporary refuelling restrictions have also been introduced by Petrol at its service stations in Croatia; however, the company has not officially specified the reason for the measure.
• Additionally, several fuel retailers in Zagreb have introduced restrictions on filling fuel into portable containers and mobile tanks, allowing customers to refuel only vehicle fuel tanks. Fuel suppliers stated that these temporary measures are intended to ensure a stable fuel supply throughout the country during a period of increased tourism, higher consumption, and continued uncertainty in global energy markets.
