As per reports, the following are the weather warnings issued across Andhra Pradesh from Wednesday till Sunday (03-07 September):
• Wednesday (03 September): A yellow alert for thunderstorm, lightning, squall and strong surface winds has been issued for all districts except Kurnool, Nandyal, Anantapuram, Kadapa, Sri Sathya Sai, Annamayya, Chittoor and Tirupati. Meanwhile, a yellow alert for strong surface winds has been issued for these remaining districts.
• Thursday (04 September): A yellow alert for thunderstorm, lightning, squall and strong surface winds has been issued for all districts except Kurnool, Nandyal, Anantapuram, Kadapa, Sri Sathya Sai, Annamayya, Chittoor and Tirupati. Meanwhile, a yellow alert for strong surface winds has been issued for these remaining districts.
• From Friday to Sunday (05-07 September), a yellow alert for thunderstorm, lightning, squall and strong surface winds has been issued in parts of Andhra Pradesh.
• On Tuesday (02 September), the Vizianagaram Collector, B. R. Ambedkar, directed all the officials to monitor the flood like situation and constantly take alerts from the control room (08922-236947) for minimizing the damage to public and private properties. Further, he directed the mandal level officials to set up local control rooms for taking swift action.
• As of Wednesday (03 September), reservoirs in Eluru district are overflowing with flood waters, with Yerrakalva, Tammileru and other water bodies filled to their maximum capacities. Officials stated that people living in the downstream areas of these water bodies have been warned about discharging of flood waters.
• On Tuesday (02 September), the Godavari River’s water level at Bhadrachalam was at 41.3 feet, with an inflow and outflow of 9.72 lakh cusecs at the Dowleswaram Cotton Barrage, leading to the withdrawal of the first danger warning. Meanwhile, the Krishna River at Prakasam Barrage recorded inflows and outflows of 3.52 lakh cusecs.
