The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red, orange and yellow alert for heatwave in Rajasthan from Monday (20 May) till Friday (24 May) with the possibility of strong, gusty, hot, dry winds during the day; and the temperature likely to cross the 46-47 degree Celsius mark.
• Monday (20 May): Red alert has been issued for Sriganganagar and Barmer; orange alert for Hanumangarh, Churu, Bikaner, Nagaur, Jodhpur, Pali, Jalore, Jaisalmer, Kota, and Baran; and yellow alert for Jaipur, Sikar, Alwar, Bharatpur, Dausa, Dholpur, Sawai Madhopur, and Bundi.
• Tuesday (21 May): Red alert for Hanumangarh, SriGanganagar, and Bikaner; orange alert for Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Pali, Kota, Baran, Sawai Madhopur, Dausa, Alwar, Bharatpur, and Dholpur; and yellow alert for Jalore, Nagaur, Jaipur, Bundi, and Jhalawar.
• Wednesday (22 May): Red alert for Hanumangarh, SriGanganagar, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, and Barmer; orange alert for Bikaner, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Nagaur, Dausa, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Alwar, Sawai Madhopur, Baran, Kota, and Jhalawar; and yellow alert for Jalore, Pali, Bundi, and Jaipur.
• Thursday (23 May): Red alert for Hanumangarh, SriGanganagar, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Churu, Jhunjhunu, and Bikaner; orange alert for Bhilwara, Bundi, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Bundi, Dausa, Dholpur, Jaipur, Sikar, and Nagaur; and yellow alerts for Pali, Jhalawar, and Baran.
