According to the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) forecast, a red alert for heavy rainfall and strong surface wind has been issued for Pune on Monday (06 July). Meanwhile, an orange alert for moderate rainfall between five and 15 millimetres (mm) with gusty winds is active till 0700 hours (local time) as per nowcast.
Additionally, a traffic advisory has been issued for Monday (06 July) warning of traffic congestion across multiple roads and junctions in Pune due to ongoing heavy rainfall. Slow-moving traffic is expected along Tilak Road, Shastri Road, Shivaji Road, Jangli Maharaj (JM) Road, Fergusson College (FC) Road, Karve Road, Paud Road, Senapati Bapat (SB) Road, Solapur Road and Satara Road.
