The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange and yellow alert across all districts of West Bengal on Friday (30 May). Orange alert has been issued for very heavy to heavy rainfall and strong surface winds in Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, Darjeeling, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar.

Yellow alert has been issued for heavy rainfall and strong surface winds in Uttar and Dakshin Dinajpur, Malda, Murshidabad, Birbhum, Purba and Paschim Bardhaman, Nadia, North and South 24 Parganas, Kolkata, Howrah, Purba and Paschim Medinipur, Hooghly, Jhargram, Bankura, Purulia.
