IMD issues heatwave alerts for several states from 20-24 May

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a bulletin anticipating a severe heatwave to affect Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana from Monday (20 May) to Friday (24 May). Maximum temperature in Delhi is forecast to be at 45 degrees Celsius on Tuesday (21 May) and Friday (24 May).

• IMD mentions the emergence of severe heatwave conditions in Rajasthan from Tuesday (21 May) to Friday (24 May) and in specific areas of Uttar Pradesh on Monday (20 May) and Tuesday (21 May).
• IMD projections indicate heatwave conditions over parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh from Monday (20 May) to Friday (24 May).
