IMD issued orange alert for fog in Delhi on Saturday (04 January); several flights and trains delayed

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert in Delhi on Saturday (04 January). Heavy fog conditions are expected across the city.

At the Delhi Airport, flight operations were halted in the early hours of Saturday (04 January) due to reduced visibility. The same was confirmed by airlines including IndiGo and Air India. On Friday (03 January), over 150 flights were delayed and around 30 flights were cancelled. Further, railways also witnessed disruptions as several trains including the New Delhi Vande Bharat was delayed by over four hours.
