As per reports, the police received a report from the public claiming that a bomb was planted on the Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) train number 144 at the Zuoying Station, around 1645 hours (local time) on Sunday (21 December).

The police completed their first round of security checks by 1708 hours confirming that no suspicious or dangerous objects were found on the train.

• Subsequently, the investigation team arrived at 1735 hours and coordinated with the Zuoying Police Station to conduct another comprehensive inspection, which concluded at 1756 hours.
• As no explosives were found, the train was handed over to the high speed rail authorities for further handling.
• Police stated that the incident was found to be a false report, and the individuals involved have been arrested.
