Hoax bomb threat received by Chennai Airport on Wednesday (12 June)

As per reports, at around 1730 hours on Wednesday (12 June), the police control room at the Chennai Airport received a call wherein the caller mentioned that there were explosives at multiple places inside the airport premises.

The bomb squad and the CISF conducted a thorough search of the airport, while the Airport Director held a security meeting to ensure all necessary arrangements for tight security within the airport premises. Although the officers confirmed it was a hoax call, security measures were intensified due to the frequent occurrence of such threats.
