As per reports, the security forces have increased security measures across the Jammu-Srinagar Highway on Friday (14 August) ahead of the Independence Day celebrations on Saturday (15 August).

Following are the latest details available:

• Personnel from the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Jammu and Kashmir Police (JK Police) and other security agencies are maintaining heightened vigilance along the highway, particularly at vulnerable and strategically important points.
• Vehicle checking and monitoring have been stepped up as part of the security arrangements.
• Several cordon-and-search operations have also been conducted in parts of Anantnag and Kulgam since Thursday (13 August) evening, with security forces carrying out searches at identified locations.
