Heightened security deployment reported in Germany in view of New Year celebration on Sunday (31 December)

As per reports, security will also be increased at Berlin’s four train stations on Sunday (31 December) in view of New Year celebrations. The authorities have informed that an additional 500 federal police officers have been deployed in the city.

Moreover, law enforcement in Cologne is also increasing the security in the city as a response to the reported possibility of religious groups planning an attack on the cathedral during New Year’s Eve.
