As per reports, the Pune City Traffic Police, in coordination with the District Collector’s Office, has announced a time-bound ban on the movement of heavy vehicles along the Katraj-Kivale Bypass of the Pune-Bengaluru Highway, effective from Wednesday (15 October) onwards, until further notice.
The restriction applies to heavy vehicles such as multi-axle trucks, trailers, containers, dumpers, tractors, JCBs and other slow moving machinery.
• From 0800 to 1100 hours (local time), the ban will be imposed on vehicles plying from Katraj towards Kivale on National Highway (NH) 48.
• From 1700 to 2100 hours (local time), the ban will be imposed on vehicles plying from Kivale towards Katrja on NH-48 and parts of the Old Pune-Mumbai Highway (NH-4).
• Additionally, heavy vehicles from Satara, Sangli and Kolhapur heading towards Bengaluru will not be allowed beyond Shindewadi Toll Naka during restricted hours.
• Heavy vehicles from Navi Mumbai, Thane and Raigad heading towards the Bypass will be stopped at Urse toll Naka or Vadgaon Phata.
• Exemptions will apply to essential service vehicles, including those transporting fuel, milk, agricultural produce and emergency supplies.
