The China Meteorological Observatory (CMO) has forecast a blue warning for heavy rainfall at 1800 hours (local time) on Thursday (09 October) in several parts of China. It is expected that from 2000 hours (local time) on Thursday (09 October) to 2000 hours (local time) on Friday (10 October), heavy to torrential rainfall of around 50-80 mm is expected in parts of northern Shaanxi, central Shanxi, central Hebei, southern Beijing, Tianjin, central and northern Shandong, the northwestern Sichuan Basin, and southeastern Gansu.

In addition, some of these areas may also experience short bursts of heavy rainfall with a maximum hourly rainfall of 20-30 mm.
