As per reports, heavy to intense rainfall affected the southern region of Sinaloa, Mexico, during the afternoon of Wednesday (08 July) impacting municipalities including Mazatlán, Escuinapa, Rosario, and Concordia.
• In Mazatlán, rainfall was accompanied by thunderstorms and strong wind gusts, resulting in localized disruptions and power outages.
• Heavy rainfall was reported in Villa Unión and surrounding areas, including the Airport Junction, El Castillo, La Sirena, Urbi Villa, and Santa Teresa.
• Weather conditions across the remainder of Mazatlán remained highly unstable, with extensive cloud cover and wind gusts reaching approximately 50 kilometres per hour.
• Power outages were reported in several neighbourhoods, including Centro, Flamingos, Independencia, Brisas del Mar, and Campo Bello, indicating localized impacts to the electricity distribution network.
• Dark storm clouds continued to move across much of Mazatlán toward the coast, maintaining the potential for additional rainfall and thunderstorms.
