According to reports, the Central Weather Administration (CWA) issued a heavy rainfall advisory for parts of Taiwan on Saturday (08 June) due to a strengthening cloud system.
• The most rainfall recorded nationwide on Saturday (08 June) was in Taichung’s Heping District, which had received 74 millimetres (mm) of rainfall as of 1650 hours. Zhushan Township in Nantou received 72 mm of rainfall.
• Additionally, Gukeng Township in Yunlin, Fanlu Township in Chiayi, and Taiwu Township in Pingtung each received 50 mm of rainfall.
• The CWA issued heavy rain advisories until late night on Saturday (08 June) for the following areas: New Taipei City Mountain Area, Taoyuan City Mountain Area, Hsinchu County Mountain Area, Miaoli County Mountain Area, Taichung City Mountain Area, Nantou County Mountain Area, Yunlin County Mountain Area, Chiayi County Mountain Area, Tainan City Mountain Area, Kaohsiung City Mountain Area, Yilan County, and Hualien County.
