As per reports, France is experiencing an early strong heat episode, with temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius already recorded in the south west and conditions expected to intensify from Friday (22 May).
• Météo France indicated that temperatures may reach 30 degrees Celsius across eastern Brittany, Pays de la Loire, Limousin and Poitou Charentes, while maximum temperatures may exceed 35 degrees Celsius in parts of the south west.
• The peak of the early heat episode is expected during the first part of next week, Tuesday (26 May) or Wednesday (27 May), with summer like conditions likely to persist until the end of May.
