As per reports, the health ministry has warned against the rise and spread of Chikungunya cases in Sri Lanka. The Epidemiology Unit has stated that surveillance has been conducted in selected hospitals in the Western Province since December 2024 to check the spread of Chikungunya. Cases have been increasing in the Western Province and other provinces.
