GST officers stop work in Mumbai on Friday (12 December); Protests likely to intensify on Monday (15 December)

As per reports, State Goods and Services Tax (GST) officers have called for a work stoppage from Thursday (11 December) and office has been closed on Friday (12 December). The officers have stated that if demands remain unmet, a day-night protest will be held at the Mazgaon headquarters in Mumbai on Monday (15 December).

The officers have made demands regarding handling of the mismanagement in the Sales Tax Building, problems in internet facilities and pending promotions, transfers, and vacant posts in the fourth grade.
