As per reports, bomb threats were received by courthouses and government building in Arkansas, Maine, Mississippi, Florida, and Massachusetts, due to which evacuation procedures were carried out on Thursday (04 January).
All the bomb threats were declared as hoax.
• The Mississippi Department of Public Safety announced that due to bomb threats the following government building were evacuated: the Capitol Building in Jackson, the Supreme Court building, and the Circuit Court building in Hinds County. All locations were later cleared and resumed regular business.
• Government buildings and courthouses in Pulaski County in Arkansas; Nantucket County in Massachusetts; and Cumberland and Kennebec counties in Maine were also evacuated.
• The Fifth District Court of Appeal in Daytona Beach, Florida, too received a threat, which was resolved, and the building reopened later.
