As per reports, the funeral of late Freeman Singh Syiem, Syiem of Hima Sohra, will be held in Cherrapunji (Sohra) on Wednesday (05 November).

• The authorities have advised all government and private offices, shops, and educational institutions within the Sohra Civil Sub-Division to remain closed on Wednesday (05 November).
• In view of the occasion, a gathering of 20,000-25,000 people is expected to attend the funeral rites.
• Additionally, the authorities have urged that all persons who do not have urgent or essential work in Sohra on Wednesday (05 November) should reschedule their visit.
