As per reports, the Fukui Sakura Marathon 2026 is scheduled to take place at about 0830 hours (local time) on Sunday (29 March) across Fukui City and Sakai City in Fukui Prefecture, Japan.
• The event will feature a certified full marathon (42.195 kilometres) with participation exceeding 15,000 runners, including domestic and international participants.
• The race will commence in staggered waves from Fukui Station (Daimyomachi intersection), with Wave one starting at 0830 hours (local time) and Wave two at 0840 hours (local time), and an official cut-off time at 1530 hours (local time).
• Road closures and traffic restrictions are expected across the marathon route and surrounding areas from approximately 0630 hours (local time) until up to 1700 hours (local time), with phased reopening after runners pass.
• Authorities have advised the public to avoid car travel in affected areas and to use public transportation due to anticipated congestion.
