As per reports, temperatures across Georgia are expected to drop beginning Sunday (09 November) as the first frost and freeze of the season moves into the region. The National Weather Service (NWS) forecast issued on Thursday (06 November) indicated that low temperatures in the mid-20s to low 30s (°F) are expected across northern and central Georgia, including metro Atlanta. The cold front is expected to arrive early next week, bringing widespread freezing conditions by Tuesday (11 November).

The temperature drop follows a period of above-average warmth across the state. Forecast models from AccuWeather indicate that temperatures will feel similar to mid-December conditions, with cold air moving southeast from the Midwest. The NWS advised that Tuesday morning (11 November) is expected to be the coldest, with lows near 27°F in some northern areas and around 37°F in metro Atlanta.

• Ahead of the freeze, forecasters warned that localized thunderstorms could occur on Sunday (09 November), depending on how rapidly the advancing cold air interacts with existing warm air masses.
• Should a secondary storm form along the cold front, light snowfall may occur over the Appalachian region before the cold air expands southward and eastward.
