As per reports, the Foreign Office issued an advisory for France on Friday (07 June), about potential disruptions due to industrial action in the country.
• A new series of strikes is expected in France in June, with walkouts announced for the coming week by Union of Air Safety Navigators – Air Traffic Control Engineers (UNSA-ICNA), at Paris Orly airport.
• The shutdown spans Tuesday (11 June) to Thursday (13 June), for flights in and out of Paris Orly. Other French airports are expected to remain unaffected.
• Ryanair canceled almost 100 flights due to the latest strike by French air traffic control (ATC) in the last week of May. The airline blamed the European Commission for failing to ‘protect European Union (EU) passengers’ freedom of movement’ during the ongoing industrial action.
• Additionally, further strikes by port workers in the coming weeks are expected to affect ferries to/from Calais and Cherbourg ports, and possible industrial action until September may affect the Paris public transport system (RATP).
