As per reports, the flood-like situation continued in Jabalpur division on Thursday (01 August) after the water levels of the Narmada River continued to be high.
• In Rewa district, the mini Bansagar canal was damaged on the intervening night of Wednesday (31 July)- Thursday (01 August), damaging houses in the Ramgarwa village panchayat.
• In Umaria, an individual drowned in the Son River and the SDRF team has been pressed into service to locate the body.
• Meanwhile, most regions in Madhya Pradesh are expected to witness above-normal or normal rainfall in August.Indore and Ujjain division is expected to witness above-normal rainfall in the first week of August followed by normalrainfall in the second week, below-normal rainfall in the third week and another spell of above-average rainfall in the last week.
• On Friday (03 August), rainfall is likely to occur in Jhabua, Dewas, Indore, Khandwa, Khargone, Dhar, Ratlam, Ujjain, Shajapur, Mandsaur and Neemuch. However, an official forecast by the IMD is awaited.
